Fisherman is on a mission to democratize the internet for local businesses by building the No Effort Web, cutting-edge technology that automatically creates & operates their entire online presence. We’ve quickly grown to over 1,000 customers throughout the US and Canada, and we’re hiring stellar folks to join our early-stage startup.
This role will be our first full-time Designer and a crucial part of our long-term goals as an organization. We want to provide automated, high-quality websites to millions of small business owners around the world and great design is critical to seeing this vision through. We have a robust technical foundation in place, and we’re looking for a talented, ambitious new team member to bring our product design to the next level.
We are seeking a versatile Product & UI/UX Designer to lead all design efforts for the growing Fisherman team. You will work directly with the technical leadership team to establish design standards for creating Fisherman website designs; scope, create, and test new product features; and manage the priorities of product design needs across the entire organization. Specific examples of work/responsibilities include:
Establish design standards for creating beautiful, functional customer website themes
Collaborate with developers to create feature mockups & specifications
Be the voice of the customer
Eventually manage a team of 1-2 design contractors to help execute your vision (we’ll help with the hiring)
4 + years of product design or UX/UI @ a software company
Experience designing for technically un-savvy users
An outstanding portfolio that showcases your foundation in product design
Expertise with design tools like Figma or Sketch/Zeplin/Marvel
Experience working closely with engineering teams
Basic front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, React)
Coursework in UX / HCI
Experience designing products for small business owners
Experience working with or managing a team of design contractors
Marketing experience
